Roger Kern earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, is a State of Connecticut certified Journeyman Tool & Diemaker, is a member of the American Society for Quality and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, and earned his Six Sigma Green Belt certification from Central Connecticut State University. Roger has 45 years of hands-on sinker EDM experience and 35 years of hands-on wire EDM experience. Roger owned and operated Kern Special Tools Company (a Tool, Die, Mold & Precision Machine Shop) as well as Kern EDM Supplies prior to the sale of these companies in 1997. Roger then served as Vice President of Technology for Global EDM Supplies until his recent appointment as President of Innovative Technology Providers, an international technology consulting firm. He has more than 40 years of manufacturing experience, specializing in Manufacturing Engineering with an emphasis on EDM and Quality disciplines. He is a frequent technical contributor to EDM publications in North America, Europe, and the Far East.
