After the archiving process is completed, you can begin to
delete unnecessary files. Once a Piece file is created from
the Script file (SBL or VBS), the Script file can be deleted to
reduce the amount of data stored on the machine. Start this
process by selecting the far left container Batches – see
Figure 2.
Click on the top object and while holding the shift key the
bottom object.
• Place the curser on one of the objects, right click.

• From the pop up select delete “Dependent files”.
• All selected will be cleared from the system along with

all sub-ordinate files.
• Start with the Batches then Pieces, VBS, ISO – See Figure 3.
GF Technicians have seen cases where the system response is still a little slow even
after the removal of the user data on the system. With some CAM system with each job
created using a Script if not done correctly some times multiple Quality Target would be
created as well. If this list gets to large it will slow the machines response.
This is resolved by clearing the unprotected Quality Targets from the list.
For users with AgieVision, 1-4 is on the IBM O/s2 operating system. This process is a

little more work and a little more important. This is because if the system gets over-
whelmed with data, it could crash the system software. If that happens the recovery kit
(in the group of 3.5” floppy disks that came with the machine) would be needed. The re-
covery process would require you to delete all user data, and it would be un-recoverable.
To clear the Quality Target list you would need the original equipment data disk (3.5”
floppy) and you would need to update the Quality Target list through Equipment data
Import/export in configurations. Then do a full reboot the machine.

A little good housekeeping
goes a long way to prevent

machine from being lost.
We would suggest that once
the job is complete, it would
be a good idea to back it up
in its own folder off the
machine, then deleted from
the machine. There is a lot

of historical data stored if
Terminated (completed) state. The object correction and actual execution time would store with the file. Depending
on the CAM system clearing the Quality Target list would be ideal as well. the job is in the Finished or
