Bob Krueger Retirement

On December 31st, 2024, after almost 29
years with MANN+HUMMEL, Bob Krueger has

retired. Many EDM shops may not recognize
his name, but he was instrumental in creating
the EDM fi lter program at MANN+HUMMEL,
which manufactures many of the fi lters used by the various OEMs and
sold through consumables departments everywhere. Bob was responsible
for business development in the industrial fi ltration market.

Jason Foster, Key Accounts Manager at MANN+HUMMEL, has taken on
Bob’s customers. He wishes that he had more time to spend with Bob,
but recognizes the impact of Bob’s time at MANN+HUMMEL. Bob was a
mentor to many people globally, inside and outside of MANN+HUMMEL.
It was not uncommon for employees to ask Bob for his opinion on fi ltra-

tion solutions, regardless if it was EDM or another type. Bob made sure he
was read up on as much of the product as was possible so an opportunity
would never be missed.
Jason shared that Bob has never met a stranger. He has a way of making you feel like you have been friends all your
life. He remembered the small details of your conversations together, which showed he was present and listened
intently when you spoke together. He loved his career, but not nearly as much as he loved his wife and family. Bob’s
parting words to Jason were, “Make sure you take care of my friends,” which meant his customers.
In retirement, Bob’s focus will be to spoil his family and take care of his four granddaughters. Perhaps there will be
room for some fi shing and horseback riding. EDM Today wishes Bob a great retirement.

Sodick Opens Canadian Headquarters in Toronto

Sodick, a global leader in precision machining solutions,
is proud to announce the grand opening of its new
facility in Toronto, Canada, which will open on Monday,
December 9th, 2024. Until now, Sodick has been
represented in Canada through a dealer network that
includes High Speed Machinery Technologies Canada (HSM), SparQuetec, and Ultra Machine Sales Co Ltd.

This new facility will serve as Sodick’s Canadian headquarters, allowing the company to support sales and
service directly in the Canadian manufacturing market.
Mark Sanhamel, Executive Vice President of Sodick Inc. expressed, “Today we build upon the solid foundation
created by decades of Ultra’s efforts. The Canadian market is extremely important to Sodick and, by establishing
a direct presence, we better situate ourselves to address the needs of the Canadian manufacturing community
and domestically support our dealer network.” Sodick’s decision to establish direct operations in Canada will
enhance support for existing users by enabling domestic sales and service, as well as providing stocked parts
and consumables.
