Ed also told me they have an “LF” version of
Crystal Brite with a very low freezing point. It
stays liquid down to well below the freez-
ing point of 0° C. The rated temperature is
-20° C (-4° F). This low-freeze version offers

low temperatures.
Ed explained that the “LF” version was
developed for use in Asia and other areas
when storage and shop temperature
can be low.
George Burrell explained that Hangsterfer’s customers who use
Crystal Brite report quicker overall EDM cutting times with less
carbonization. He added that the oil even meets California’s rigid
standards for VOCs. The product has a very low evaporation rate,

which is why it is odorless.
I told Ed and George that EDM Today is seeing a demand for
ultra-low-viscosity dielectrics for micro and small-hole EDM drilling.
Ed stated that Hangsterfer’s would be receptive to discussing
special viscosity blends.
I asked what else they would like EDM Today subscribers to know
about Hangsterfer’s. Ed added that subscribers should know that all
their metalworking fl uids will exceed their expectations. He invites
customers who may not be familiar with their products to contact
them.
